Editor’s Pick

Three dishes on a wooden table by a window: plantains with vegetables, loaded fries topped with sauce and herbs, and a stuffed sandwich. A cup of sorrel is in the center.

Figi here. If you haven’t already visited Twin Isle, now’s the time to add it to the list.

The Caribbean restaurant has been open since September, and it was packed inside, despite the fact that my visit was at 3:30 p.m.

I’m not particularly versed in Caribbean food, so I had chef-owner Janelle Romeo pick my meal. Here’s what I recommend:
  • Sorrel: This crimson drink invoked the flavor of a mulled, earthy lemonade.
  • Oxtail fries: These aren’t the most traditional dish, according to Romeo, but they were irresistible and perfect for sharing.
  • Bake & Shark sandwich: Romeo says this sandwich is perfect for eating on the beach, but I think it’s perfect for eating anywhere.
