🏗️ Arena you ready?

The University of Texas at Austin set a plan in motion to build a new arena near the Moody Center.

The school issued a request for proposal to design, build, and finance an arena and student-athlete housing for the four-time National Champion Longhorn Women’s Volleyball team. The new arena would be built on a four-acre plot, seat 6,000 fans, and potentially feature retail on the ground level.

The announcement comes on the heels of discussions to move the site of the upcoming MD Anderson University hospital, which was slated to be built in the same area, on the former Frank Erwin Center site.

The proposal would be a public-private collaboration, and developers can submit proposals for both or either facility until early February.
