Yelp’s list of the top 25 places to eat in Austin is here, and our mouths are watering.
The list was compiled using total volume and ratings of reviews given by Yelp Elite Squad members from August 2024 to August 2025. Figi here — I’ve been around the block a few times too. I went through the list to find some of my favorites to help you work your way through flavortown.
No. 9:Bird Bird Biscuit
My go-to order? “The Queen Beak,” which comes with black pepper honey and bacon-infused chipotle mayo.
No. 14:KG BBQ
There is not a bad dish on the menu as far as I’m concerned, but the Egyptian mac n’ cheese and any of the rice bowls are a good start.
No. 22:The Guest House
The Guest House may boast my favorite espresso martini, which comes with vanilla cold foam and croissant-infused vodka.
The members-only social and professional Headliners Club, located on the 20th and 21st floors of Downtown’s Procore Tower, reopened this week after an $8 million renovation. Construction began in January and largely focused on the kitchen — peek inside. (Austin Business Journal)
Travel
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport was not on the FAA’s list of expected airports where flights will be reduced by 10%, but it does have connections to 34 of the 40 airports on the list, so travel may still be disrupted. Both airports in Dallas and both airports in Houston were on the list. (Austin Business Journal)

Why Not Wednesdays, a new concert series by the Red River Cultural District, will bring $11 performances to the area every third Wednesday starting on Nov. 19. Stubb’s, Chess Club, Feels So Good, and The 13th Floor will participate — check out the lineup and get tickets.
Real Estate
Glen Powell loves the Longhorns. So much so, apparently, that he decorated his $4 million house in the team’s honor. The A-lister told Texas Monthly that a Longhorns-themed doorbell and orange + white bathroom tiles are just a few of the design choices.
Opening
Austin-based Carrier5 Hospitality has three new restaurant locations opening. Mama Betty’s Tex-Mex will begin its soft opening phase at Burnet Road on Thursday, Nov. 13 — cocktail bar Foxtail will open next door on the same day. Meanwhile, Happy Slice Pizza is now open on West Parmer Lane.
Pets
A luxe pet resort called VIP Furbabies is slated to open in Cedar Park early next year. The spot will feature boarding, a dog and cat spa, grooming services, and daycare for your four-legged friends. (Community Impact)
