News Notes

Biz

Wheatsville Co-op will no longer be able to continue with its planned hub-and-spoke model. The local grocer chain had planned to buy two Fresh Plus stores, but the deal was canceled due to financial inviability, which could leave Wheatsville with only one store next year. (Austin Business Journal)

F1 drivers have spent the last few days making appearances all over town. McLaren’s Lando Norris made a cameo at his LN4 store’s pop-up along South Congress Avenue, while the team with BWT Alpine’s Pierre Gasly posted themselves trying on cowboy boots.

Weather

Speaking of F1, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile declared a “heat hazard” for the upcoming race weekend due to temperatures above 31° Celsius, aka 87.8° Fahrenheit. (KXAN)

Shop

Kendra Scott is branching out to a new type of accessory: footwear. The Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott boot collection is officially for sale, offering two different styles for women and one for men.

The Wrap

I love a good roller coaster, so I’m pretty jealous that F1-goers will be able to ride Circuit Breaker, the first roller coaster at COTALAND. Circuit of the Americas will have it open this weekend, but the new amusement park isn’t slated to open until sometime next year.
