~50 minutes. That’s how much sunlight will be lost in Austin over the course of September as days get progressively shorter.

If you’re dreading the darkness, you still have time to make the most of sun-soaked evenings on a local hike.

River Place Canyon Trail
Expect to get your heart pumping, because this trail has many elevation changes. The bright side? That means stunning views, too.

Turkey Creek Trail
Emma Long Metropolitan Park runs along the north bank of the Colorado River, but this trail largely explores the forested inner areas of the park.

Onion Creek and Homestead Trail Loop
Wander through wooded areas, over waterfalls, and among wildflowers at McKinney Falls State Park.
