An increase of Saharan dust will take over Austin skies this weekend, causing dusty skies, higher temperatures, and vibrant sunsets. The dust concentration is expected to peak on Monday + Tuesday, when we will likely have temperatures in the high 90s. (KVUE)
Eat
It’s time to go for a smoke break. Local restaurants Salty Sow and Waylon J’s plan to launch Smoke Break: a delicious pop-up experience serving barbecue and sandwiches. It’s open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays-Sundays at Salty Sow. (Eater Austin)
Health
TXM Microhospital — a planned 24,000-sqft facility that will have both emergency and inpatient care — broke ground in Manor yesterday. Once it opens in July 2026, the hospital will have two operating suites, a six-bed emergency department, and tech like radiology and CT scanners. (KVUE)
Closed
The owners of Hawaiian eatery Shoyu Sugar are selling the restaurant as they prepare to move back to the islands to spend time with family. The owners said they hope to sell it to someone who will continue to run the restaurant and their last day will be on Friday, July 18. (Eater Austin)

Cirque du Soleil’s creepy crawly show will return to The Moody Center this fall. Tickets for “OVO,” which follows the love story of a ladybug and the new bug on the block, are on sale now starting at $71.
