Founded five years ago in an Austin garage by CEO Sarah Sides, Loveweld emphasizes the memories that jewelry holds for the wearer through customization.

Loveweld offers 14k solid gold and sterling silver jewelry that can be permanently welded on or worn with a traditional clasp. Its flagship location — on North Lamar Boulevard across from Book People — opens on Saturday, June 21.
To celebrate its grand opening day, the store will offer 10% off select styles, bites + bevs, local vendors, and giveaways from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

An Austin-based company called Green Corridors, LLC received a presidential permit to build a railway for autonomous vehicles between Laredo, Texas, and Monterrey, Mexico. The elevated railway would be used to move goods between the two cities, and could cost up to $10 billion to build. (KXAN)

The Harrison and Brittany Barnes Community Fund debuted a newly renovated basketball court at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area campus earlier this week. Harrison Barnes, power forward for the San Antonio Spurs, spent his childhood at his local Boys & Girls Club and previously served on the board of trustees.

Hamilton Pool Preserve will remain closed to swimmers through at least Friday, June 27, due to concerns over high bacteria levels and falling rocks. The preserve is still open to hikers, but visits still require a reservation. (KVUE)

Soul 2 Sole International Tap Festival will be canceled this year after its $30,000 National Endowment for the Arts grant was revoked.
