Small Business Week is almost here, and we’re gearing up to spread the local love.
We’ve partnered with some of Austin’s small businesses to celebrate the folks who make up the backbone of our local economy.

We have something special for our readers, too. We’ve created an interactive map of can’t-miss deals, self-improvement opportunities, and fun things to experience offered exclusively during Small Business Week.
Throughout the month, you can expect Q+A’s with local entrepreneurs that shine a light on what it’s like being a part of the Capital City’s small business community.
From enjoying buy one get one free from Maddie Green Boutique to attending a free community class at OutWellness, there will be plenty of ways to support ATX’s small businesses.

Austin PBS is keeping viewers like you at the forefront of its new slate of programming.
The broadcast service behind “Austin City Limits” is developing a handful of new shows focused on the Capital City community. Here’s what’s coming to the small screen.
“Austin Insight” | This weekly news and feature program — which already premiered — has recently covered heat islands, bat conservation, interviewed the Austin Community College chancellor, and more.
“High School Quiz Show: Austin” | The popular trivia game show will pit Central Texas high schoolers head-to-head to test their knowledge later this year.
“City of Songs” | Austin PBS will be the presenting station for this show, where Austin-based musician and actor Stephanie Hunt will explore communities (including the Live Music Capital of the World) where music is integral to the culture.
Psst — you can watch these shows and more for free on the Austin PBS website or app.
I’m an avid PBS watcher and I have been since I was a kid. You’ll often find me watching “The Daytripper” when I’m at home doing chores on weekends. I was so excited when I met the host, Chet Garner, at ACL Festival last year that you would have thought I was meeting Beyoncé.
