This spring, we’re taking a deeper look at medical cannabis in Texas — what’s legal, the latest products available to patients, and how some say it’s changing lives.
Under the Texas Compassionate Use Program, medical cannabis is available for 150+ conditions, including:
  • PTSD
  • Cancer
  • Epilepsy
  • Neuropathy
  • Spasticity
  • Autism
  • Parkinson’s
  • Incurable neurodegenerative conditions
  • And more

The lives it’s changed

When Jacob began experiencing severe dizziness, nausea, and seizures, his life changed. After exhausting multiple treatment options, he was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy.

Desperate for relief, Jacob’s family turned to medical cannabis.

Since October 2020, he has been seizure-free thanks to Texas Original. “I used to be scared when I’d wake up dizzy and have a seizure,” Jacob said. “Now I don’t worry anymore.”

For Barry, a veteran, it offered him a different way to find relief in his healing journey.

After losing his son and being diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer in the same year, Barry became dependent on prescription opioids for pain relief.

Within an hour of taking his first dose of medical cannabis, he felt immediate physical and emotional relief.

Now cancer-free, the veteran has regained mobility and rediscovered joy in life. “I feel better than I’ve felt since I was 45 years old,” Barry said.
