Development
A multi-year restoration project on the historic UT Tower will begin in November and last through at least summer 2027. The work will enhance the clockface, lighting, stone, windows, and gilding + include safety improvements.

Sports
Austin FC fired coach Josh Wolff on Sunday. The club’s loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday eliminated the team from MLS playoff contention for the second year in a row. Since its founding in 2019, Wolff had been Austin FC’s only coach. (Austin American-Statesman)
History
Happy birthday, Muny. Lions Municipal Golf Course celebrated its 100th anniversary on Thursday, Oct. 3 with a proclamation from Mayor Kirk Watson. The course originally opened in 1924, and became one of the first golf courses in the South to voluntarily desegregate in 1951. (KVUE)

A new bookstore selling collectibles and rare books is now open in Hyde Park. Livra Books and Curiosities also carries books in Spanish — in addition to a large English selection — as owner Moctezuma Seth González hopes to expand access to books with cultural meaning. (KUT)
Closed
Forever 21 at The Domain permanently closed last month after 14 years in business. The location held deeply discounted sales until its final days, but there is still one more Austin location of the store inside Barton Creek Square. (Community Impact)
