ACL 2024 is here, aka one of the busiest times of the year in Austin. You may find yourself on an after-hours adventure, and when the midnight craving hits, you’ll want to find a restaurant where the grill is still hot.

Industry | Open until 1 a.m. Tuesday-Saturday Picture this: you’re chilling with the homies, it’s getting late, and everyone’s heart is set on a different cuisine. Industry is your fix, serving up everything from chicken wings and fish + chips to tacos and brisket pastrami.

Golden Tiger | Open until 1:30 a.m. Located at Whisler’s, Golden Tiger is raved about for its juicy burgers, top-notch chicken sandwiches, and queso fries.
DittyDog, 519 E. 7th St. | Open until 3 a.m. Thursday-Sunday This Downtown food truck boldly claims its “hotdog will change your life.” It’s loaded up with all the fixin’s, and its fry baskets are piled high with toppings.
Texas Pumpkin Fest | Friday, Oct. 4-Sunday, Oct. 6 | 10 a.m.-9 p.m. | VFW Pumpkin Patch, Leander | $15 | Roam through a Texas-sized pumpkin patch, walk the Hall of Monsters, and see a magic show at this fall festival.

Sunday, Oct. 6

Beloved local bakery Swedish Hill will open a new location on South 1st Street (inside the building where Foxtrot once operated) in early 2025. According to MML Hospitality Group, this new locale will be the flagship restaurant. (Eater Austin)
Sports
The NCAA selected Austin as the location for several future sporting events, including the men’s and women’s swimming + diving finals for the 2027 and 2028 division and the women’s golf regionals in 2028. See the full schedule.
Coming Soon
A new 5,500-sqft bar called Palace Laundry is planned for the former site of Placeholder and Alibi on Rainey Street. Project leaders hope to begin construction by the end of 2024 and open the bar by the end of 2025. (Austin Business Journal)

Who’s hungry? The Austin Food & Wine Festival 2024 lineup is here, featuring a slew of live cooking demonstrations, meet + greets, and showcases from top chefs. Dig into the schedule for the foodie festival, which runs Friday, Nov. 1-Sunday, Nov. 3.
Shop
Longtime Austin resident Chris Mattsson opened a specialty gift store this week at 3706 Kerbey Lane. Joy Gift Shoppe shoppers can pick up handmade goods like jewelry, greeting cards, and ceramics created by local artisans.
Cause
Tito’s Handmade Vodka and ACL Festival will launch a collaborative merchandise collection, featuring two shirts, a hat, and a bandanna. The collection will benefit the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians and will only be available at the Tito’s GA festival activation, called That Tito’s Thing, on both Saturdays of the festival.
Tech
Austin-based Tesla recalled 27,000 Cybertrucks due to a rear-view camera issue — the vehicle’s largest recall to date. The tech company said a software update would fix the problem, which caused delayed images + weakened visibility. (Austin American-Statesman)
