Hundreds. That’s how many authors will attend this year’s Texas Book Festival, including Austin’s own “Greenlights” author Matthew McConaughey.
The annual festival will return to Congress Avenue in front of the State Capitol Saturday, Nov. 16-Sunday, Nov. 17. Prominent writers include Malcolm Gladwell of “Outliers,” Rumaan Alam of “Entitlement,” and Ernest Cline of “Ready Player One.”
Authors will flock from all around the world, but be on the lookout for dozens of Austin-based authors, including:
“The Squish” author Breanna Carzoo
“An Authentic Life” author Jennifer Chang
“The Hollywood Assistant” author May Cobb
“By Any Other Name” author Erin Cotter
“The Strange Wonders of Roots” author Evan Griffith
“House of Bone and Rain” author Gambino Iglesias
“Mamá’s Magnificent Dancing Plantitas” author Eliza Kinkz
Not to brag, but I’ve actually met Matthew McConaughey before. I attended his birthday party hosted by Tequila Pantalones, where we had a very brief conversation + took a photo.
I hope to meet him again someday, because I’d love to tell him my thoughts about “Greenlights.”
