A lively outdoor gathering at a quirky, art-filled venue in Austin, Texas. The space features bright pink triangular sun shades stretched overhead and matching pink umbrellas covering metal café tables and picnic benches. People of various ages sit at the tables, chatting, eating, and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. A small stage at the center is framed by a corrugated metal roof and decorated with a bold black-and-white abstract mural; a DJ stands behind a booth with speakers on either side. Surrounding the space are lush green plants, string lights with pink bulbs, and a misting fan creating a fine haze for cooling. A white trailer with a large QR code and thank-you message for supporting The VORTEX sits to the left, blending into the venue’s artsy, community-focused vibe.

Fun fact: I turned one in 1999, but some of my favorite songs are on that year’s Billboard Hot 100: “Believe” by Cher, “Genie in a Bottle” by Christina Aguilera, and especially "...Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears. Please enjoy this photo of me dressed up as her for Halloween, circa 2002.
