Picture this: You’re sipping on an ice-cold beverage, lounging by a waterfront pool under the summer sun. You’re teeing up for a round of golf on a world-class course. You’re getting a relaxing massage at a luxurious spa. This is just a glimpse of the different experiences available to members of The Club at Horseshoe Bay Resort, a premiere club located in the scenic Texas Lake and Hill Country (just an hour away from Austin).
Nestled along the shores of Lake LBJ, this idyllic setting combines extraordinary recreational and social activities for Texans to enjoy. Not convinced? Here’s a deeper look at the wide offering of luxe amenities at “the Hamptons of Austin:"
⛳ Get active
Play like a pro on one of the club’s championships golf courses or tennis courts. In June, the first Mouratoglou Tennis Academy (aka an elite tennis training center) will open in the US at Horseshoe Bay Resort. Looking for something slightly different? Try your hand at pickleball or nighttime glow putt.
The more adventurous can hop into a Ford Bronco for an Off-Roadeo Experience through Hill Country. With an endless supply of rocks to climb, hills to jump, and waterways to slog through, there’s no better way to experience the Texas outdoors than from the driver’s seat of a Bronco.
🏊♂️ Splish, splash
Choose from not one or two, but five resort-style pools including a unique floating pool on Lake LBJ. Don’t forget to get in on the family fun with a floating obstacle course.
Boaters can also rejoice: The Club offers members access to a full-service marina if they need a place to dock their boaton constant level-Lake LBJ.

Gabriela’s Group — the hospitality company behind all-pink-everything Taquero Mucho, Mala Vida, and Revival Coffee — has a new concept open for business.
Sinaloa-style seafood restaurant La Seareinita opened on Wednesday, May 29 at 2305 Burleson Rd. inside a former Whataburger, which sat empty for years. The restaurant is a smaller sister restaurant to Seareinas, which opened at 6607 N. I-35 in 2022.
Here’s what you can expect:
An upcoming drive-thru serving to-go micheladas and cocktails
A smaller menu of Seareinas’ most popular dishes, like ceviches, crudos, and tostadas
Plenty of entertainment, including local DJs and 10 big-screen TVs
A tropical blue interior — a departure from the group’s signature pink theme
The restaurant is currently open 5-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 12-10 p.m. Friday-Sunday, but keep an eye out for expanded hours in the coming weeks.
I don’t follow the Austin Spurs for tech tips, so I was surprised to learn from the team’s page that you can layer emojis on iPhone. I tried it and it works, so that’s just another reason to support our local G-League.
