Hyde Park pizza restaurant The Parlor, 4301 Guadalupe St., permanently closed its doors yesterday. Owners of the restaurant, which opened in 2000, said they couldn’t afford the proposed down payment to purchase the building and opened a GoFundMe to provide severance for the staff. (Eater Austin)

Travis County and UT Austin joined together to create the Texans Connecting Overdose Prevention Efforts database, a real-time dataset of overdoses in the community. Austinites can report an overdose and learn how to respond to one, which will allow community leaders to identify hotspots. (KXAN)

Josephine House is one of the Top 100 Brunch Restaurants in the US, according to a report from OpenTable. The Jeffrey’s sister restaurant was one of only five Texas restaurants to make the list.
Arts
A state of the art experience is coming to Austin. “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” and “Beyond Monet: The Immersive Experience” — which allow visitors to walk through the artists’ paintings — will open at the former Austin American-Statesman building on Friday, May 31. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 3.
