Wellness
After finishing a project in Dallas, wellness company WorldSprings plans to build an eight-acre pool-based spa in Cedar Park. The facility would feature 40 pools with a hot spring, cold plunge pools, and a “Dead Sea” floating pool. (Austin Business Journal)
Sports
Longhorns women’s basketball is ranked No. 3 in the AP Top 25, which was released yesterday. The team, which is on an eight-game winning streak, moved up two spots compared to last week. (KXAN)

Hattie B’s, a Nashville-based hot chicken restaurant, will open its first Austin location at 2529 S. Lamar Blvd. tomorrow. Expect customizable levels of heat, plenty of sides, root beer floats, and desserts.

This picturesque and historic hideaway serves up thoughtfully curated pastries, a luxurious seafood tower, waffles with roasted bananas, and rotating soft serve flavors.

Partake in this new restaurant’s brunch service, which features a “Champagne Cart” — complete with pours paired with caviar — Belgian waffles, seafood platters, and lobster Benedict.

The menu changes frequently at this restaurant so you can always expect it to be fresh. Typically, this restaurant serves up dishes with wild game (including boar and antelope), sourdough pancakes, and butternut squash kolaches.

I spent the weekend doing yard work and roaming the gardens of Shoal Creek Nursery. I asked one particularly helpful employee if seeds ever expire, and he told me something very interesting: not only do seeds not expire (provided they’re kept dry), but scientists have sprouted seeds that are thousands of years old.
