Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a giant troll at Pease Park. An 18 ft-tall, 15 ft-wide statue of a friendly troll created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo will begin construction at the park in February. The art piece will be made of recycled materials and stand north of Kingsbury Commons. (KXAN)

Yet another new pickleball spot is coming to Austin. The Pickle Pub, a sports bar with two courts, will open in far south Austin at 10630 Menchaca Rd. sometime early this year.
