Multipurpose events venue Inn Cahoots opens this weekend

A new multi-purpose event space, group travel hotel, and event venue called Inn Cahoots will celebrate its grand opening with giveaways and a three-day celebration this weekend.
The space, located at 1221 E. 6th St., takes up nearly an entire block and includes seven event spaces, a secret garden, a food truck lot, and three bars. The libations lineup includes the luxe Bar Mischief, rooftop speakeasy IYKYK, and multipurpose space Austin Garden & Studio(which was designed in partnership with Fender Guitar).

The event spaces, which were previously used for SXSW activations and large events, will now be open to the public on a daily basis. With five condo-style suites — each containing multiple bedrooms and a private living room — the space is also ideal for group lodging.
The new space will open tomorrow, July 21, and celebrate with a host of prizes and programming. Here’s the schedule.
Friday, July 21, open 5 p.m.-2 a.m.
Austin’s Official Women’s World Cup Pep Rally, 5-8 p.m.
Austin’s Official Women’s World Cup Watch Party, 8-11 p.m.
Winners will be announced on Monday, July 24 via Instagram.

Whataburger’s first-ever digital kitchen is under construction at 3201 Bee Cave Rd. The digital location will be pick-up only with no dining room, and feature a “digital pick-up lane” as opposed to a drive-thru. (Austin Business Journal)

Austin Water is reminding residents to watch what they flush due to clogs in the sewer system. Remember, not putting wipes — or diapers, rags, and other sanitary items — in the pipes helps keep the sewers flowing.
Opening
Fleet Coffee plans to make two big moves this summer. The cafe will open a new coffee truck at 2806 Manor Rd. on Friday, July 21 and its first out-of-state location in Phoenix, Arizona’s Roosevelt Row Arts District in August or September. (Eater Austin)

The newest festival lineup just dropped, and it’s not from ACL. Kyle’s Pie in the Sky Hot Air Balloon Festival will feature live music from local favorites like Guy Forsyth, a mini carnival, pie-eating contest, pi recital contest, and more on Friday, Sept. 1, and Saturday, Sept. 2. The land hosting the Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic, near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport at 7901 Metropolis Dr., has been sold to a new LLC for $142 million. Because the VA is leasing the space, they will continue to operate out of the property. (Austin Business Journal)
