City Editor Figi here. 👋 I’m just going to say it, y’all have some hot takes.
Amid the recent sriracha shortage, we asked you to tell us your favorite local sauce. Let’s get spicy.
I was glad to see some of you echoed a love of Yellowbird. If your favorite condiment has been hit by supply chain delays, reader Brian M. also recommends Taco Deli’s Salsa Doña(which is available at Whole Foods).
Reader Kate D. likes to bring home some extra creamy jalapeño from Chuy’s, while Davis J. prefers to buy El Patio’s salsa.
And to whoever recommended Jaime’s Spanish Village — I’m especially excited to try this one.
Today isn’t only Independence Day to me — it’s mostly my mom’s birthday. We celebrate with handfuls of sparklers, angel food cake, and a trip to the lake most years.
Happy birthday Mom, and to anyone else who shares America’s birthday.
