We’re spreading the Small Business Week love with a spotlight on can’t-miss deals and experiences in the Capital City.

In honor of ATXtoday’s Small Business Week, we’ve tapped into the heart of Austin’s entrepreneurial spirit by asking local business owners to share their must-try experiences and products.

We posed the question, “When someone visits your small business for the first time, the one thing they have to do, see, or try is _____.” Here’s what they said.

Editor’s note: Responses have been edited for clarity and brevity.

Sprout & Stitch
“Explore the custom creations section — whether it’s a quilt, embroidery piece, or baby keepsake, this is where the magic of personalized, handcrafted work truly shines. Seeing the range of thoughtful, heirloom-quality designs gives a real sense of what makes Sprout & Stitch special.”

Lake Toys Boat Club
“A nice selection of boats for all interests combined with personal service, all aimed to make your life on the lake a great experience.”

The Inked Alch3mist
“When someone visits The Inked Alch3mist for the first time, they have to experience a Reiki-infused sound bath at my Grounded Gatherings or a 1:1 Holy Fire Reiki session. Each session is uniquely tailored to meet clients where they are, offering a deeply personalized and transformative healing experience.”

Paws on Chicon
“They for sure have to bring their pet into the store so our staff can give them pets and free treats. Then, they’ve gotta check out our froyo we make in house. And see how our prices just cannot be beaten online or in Austin.”

Birdhouse Books and Gifts
“Our Blind Date With A Book. People love our cheeky descriptions and plot summaries — they won’t be disappointed.”

It’s really the warm and welcoming vibe that people reference most upon entering our space.”
