Georgetown is the fastest-growing city in the US and officials are taking note.

To help combat increasing congestion on the Austin suburb’s roadways, the City of Georgetown approved a Future Mobility Plan last week. The 73-page document identifies parts of the city where changes, like realignments and additions, could improve traffic and safety.

The plan proposes adjustments to several roads, including:

  • FM 971
  • State Hwy. 29
  • Westinghouse Road

Collectively, the mobility plan outlines a potential ~$420 million in roadway improvement projects.

This isn’t the only way Georgetown is looking forward — it’s just one piece of the city’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan, which also includes long-term goals related to land use, historic preservation, housing, and green space. Explore the full plan online.
