Retro bar and restaurant The Flower Shop opening in east Austin

The new location of The Flower Shop will be the hospitality group’s first venture outside of New York City, and open before this weekend.

A cozy bar area with retro decor featuring warm wood paneling, a stone accent wall, and mustard-colored stools. The bar top is green, and pendant lights hang above it. Shelves behind the bar display a selection of spirits, and vintage portraits decorate the walls. The seating includes cushioned booths with green tables, and the overall lighting is dim, creating an intimate ambiance.

Can you picture this becoming your newest hangout?

A new, retro bar + restaurant called The Flower Shop is coming to Austin.

Hearkening back to cozy, residential design trends of the 1960s and 1970s, The Flower Shop will open at 1300 E. 7th St. in the former space of Wilder Wood Restaurant and Bar on Thursday, Oct. 10. The building was built in 1922 and opened as one of the first tortilla factories in Texas.

A pool table with a leopard print cover, a retro lamp reading "Budweiser" overhead, with a chalkboard, cues, and decor on the back wall. In the background, there's an outdoor patio with umbrella-covered picnic tables.

The Flower Shop’s new location includes celebrity investors like Adrien Grenier, Gary Clark Jr., and Tony Hawk.

This will be Eldridge Hospitality’s first foray outside of New York City, where the first location of The Flower Shop and sister restaurant Little Ways is located.

Inside, guests will find a warm-toned dining room and floral cocktail area. Outside, visitors can sit at the ground floor’s beer garden or the rooftop deck on the second floor.

On the menu, expect elevated comfort food like cauliflower steak with quinoa and wasabi deviled eggs, plus natural wines and an extensive cocktail menu.
