Something is getting ready to bloom in Georgetown. The 25th Annual Red Poppy Festival will return Friday, April 26-Sunday, April 28.
The free festival features a weekend full of events
with performances across three stages
in Georgetown town square. Here are some highlights:
- Friday — Explore vendors, food, and artisan booths while listening to a concert featuring Dysfunkshyn Junkshun.
- Saturday — Check out the Red Poppy Festival Parade, a car show, live shows, and a performance by country singer Easton Corbin.
- Sunday — The day begins with a pet parade and is packed with live shows.
The family-friendly event will also feature a Kid’s Fun Zone on Saturday + Sunday, and leashed dogs are welcome to attend.
Why red poppies? The plant was sent to Georgetown
after World War I and has been part of its landscape for 100+ years. In 1990, Georgetown was dubbed the “Red Poppy Capital of Texas.”
