Celebrate Veterans Day with a parade, ceremonies, and food specials.

We’re sharing some of the best ways to spend Veterans Day in and around Austin.

Whether you’re celebrating your own service or honoring your loved ones, there are plenty of ways to observe Veterans Day in the Capital City.

Here are just a few things in store on Monday, Nov. 11.

Events

Austin Veterans Day Parade + Memorial Ceremony | 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. | Texas State Capitol | Free | Watch the parade go down Congress Avenue before seeing a commemoration program honoring fallen soldiers.

Veterans Day Celebration | 11 a.m. | Old Settlers Park, Round Rock | Free | Witness a formal ceremony celebrating veterans, plus refreshments and live music by Austin-based singer Michaela Watson.

Veterans Day Ceremony | 10 a.m. | Veterans Park, Leander | Free | Honor current and former military members during a ceremony with a Presentation of Colors and keynote remarks.

Food specials

CARVE American Grille, multiple locations | Veterans can enjoy a free 8-ounce smoked strip + mashed potatoes from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. when a guest purchases an entree. Plus, a three-course military menu will be available from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. A reservation and military ID is required.

Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille, multiple locations | Show your military ID to receive a complimentary 32-ounce pork chop when a diner buys a dinner entree. Additionally, the restaurant’s three-course military menu will be available from 4 p.m. until close.

Whataburger, multiple locations | The Texas chain is “serving coffee for those who served” every day, through the rest of the year starting on Monday, Nov. 11. Veterans can grab a free 16-ounce hot or iced coffee when they’re in uniform or show their military ID.
