It’s time to get cheesy — get ready for a new event celebrating South Asian flavors and fromage.

The Rasam & Cheese Launch Event will bring together two Austin foodies: chef and podcaster Deepa Shridhar and certified cheese professional Alex Palomo.

Shridhar has appeared on Food Network + worked at local restaurants Dai Due and Lenoir, while Palomo previously worked as the director of wholesale at Antonelli’s Cheese Shop.

Attendees can expect a five-course menu utilizing goat cheese from Cypress Grove with rasam, a South Indian broth typically made with tamarind, plus beverage pairings.

The first event of the series will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 at Made In Studio, 1005 E. St. Elmo Rd. Tickets run $145 per person and guests must be at least 21 to attend.
