Here’s looking at you, Paramount.

The Downtown Austin fixture is back for its 49th year of screening classic films in its century-old theater. There are more than 90 films on the lineup for the season, which begins on Friday, May 26. Here’s what to expect.

  • More than a dozen screenings with the Hyperreal Film Club , including “Heat ” on Saturday, May 27
  • Five films presented by Austin director Robert Rodriguez, including “Escape from New York ” on Tuesday, May 30
  • A special screening of Orson Welles’ “F for Fake ” at UMLAUF Sculpture Garden with Film Programmer Stephen Jannise and Alamo Drafthouse architect Richard Weiss on Thursday, June 8
  • A Family Film Passport with the opportunity for prizes
  • Dozens of classic films including “Casablanca ,” “Carmen Jones ,” and “Beauty and the Beast
  • Events celebrating Black excellence, Anjelica and John Huston, Pride Month, the Harry Ransom Center, and more
