There’s nothing like kicking off ACL with this beloved local band.

Here in Austin, we like to keep things local, and that extends to our festival performers. With the 2025 edition of ACL Festival less than one month away, we’re getting ready to show up for our local musicians.

During the weekends of October 3-5 and October 10-12, nine Austin-based bands will perform on festival stages.

We rounded them all up for you along with their performance day, weekend, one of their top songs, and a fun fact.

Friday

Dylan Gossett | “Coal” | Both weekends | The local singer-songwriter attended Texas A&M University and released his first single in the summer of 2023.

Asleep at the Wheel | “Miles And Miles Of Texas” | Weekend one | This beloved group is always the first band to take the stage at ACL.

The Animeros | “Cumbia Menchaca” | Weekend one | This band formed in 2024 and takes inspiration from “the lush jungles of Colombia, the palm-lined streets of 1960s coastal Mexico, and the dusty cantinas of West Texas.”

Farmer’s Wife | “Shoe Goo” | Weekend two | You might recognize this five-piece band from its former name: “Sludge.”

Saturday

Next of Kin | “Jekyll & Hyde” | Weekend one | This trio was KUT’s Artist of the Month in April 2025.

S.L. Houser | “When I Want To” | Weekend one | This musician has toured with Zella Day and Matthew Logan Vasquez.

Sunday

The Point. | “Mrs. Kind Eyes” | Weekend two | Started by two high school friends, is KUT’s Artist of the Month for September 2025.

Geto Gala | “Homerun Derby” | Weekend one | Jake Lloyd and Deezie Brown join forces to create this sonic force. Figi here — these two musicians put on a great show.

The Huston-Tillotson University Jazz Collective | Weekend two | These talented musicians performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center and Virginia Arts Festival HBCU Jazz Residency earlier this year.

We’ll see you at the flags this October. Know of a local artist who isn’t on this list? Let us know.
