At a cost of $25 million, the City decided to replace a 110-ft pedestrian bridge in Roy G. Guerrero Park that was swept away by floods in 2015. About $8.5 million of the project’s price tag will be paid for by federal grants. (Austin American-Statesman)

Longhorn baseball player Ivan Melendez is the winner of the 2022 Dick Howser Trophy, an award recognizing college baseball’s best player. The win marks the fifth award of its kind for UT. ⚾️ (Austin American-Statesman)

Environment
Austin’s water treatment plants will soon use electricity and copper ions to prevent invasive zebra mussels from clogging up infrastructure. Construction on the new system is expected to begin in a matter of months, and be completed by next winter. (KXAN)
Eat
Texas French Bread has plans to open a food trailer in the parking lot near their brick-and-mortar location, which burned down this January. The new location — which could open as soon as October — will serve lunch, breakfast, and baked goods. (Austin American-Statesman)
