Do you live to eat or eat to live? ZIKI lets you do both, without sacrificing taste, sustainability, or good health. With five locations in Austin and more on the way, ZIKI believes in promoting confidence in the food you’re eating by using only the most pure, natural, and earthy ingredients — all while offering their Greek-with-a-hint-of-Mexican food at reasonable prices.

How do they do it when high-quality ingredients are infamously expensive? ZIKI manufactures its own modular kitchens (think: a food truck with a permanent address + outdoor seating) instead of spending a fortune on brick and mortar locations. That means they can put their money into the best ingredients without overcharging happy customers.

Let’s take a closer look at the food + values that make them stand out:

The ingredients

Everything they serve is free from soy, seed and vegetable oils, and preservatives. The healthier + flavorful alternative: Grass-fed butter, ghee, and extra virgin olive oil. Partnerships with local sustainable-practicing farms allows ZIKI to use:
  • Local, sustainably grown vegetables
  • Free-range eggs from pasture-raised chickens
  • Nutrient-rich goats milk for their yogourt-based Tzatziki sauces
  • Raw, unfiltered honey, which is as sweet for the environment as it is the tongue

The menu

Those ingredients are masterfully blended to create dishes like:
  • The popular falafel “zurrito” — one of several zurritos, this one features a flour tortilla with gluten-free falafel, brown rice, fresh avocado, beet hummus, savory roasted eggplant dip, tahini sauce, and pico de gallo
  • Energy-boosting salads + grain bowls (think: gyro bowl or a beet feta fig salad)
  • Fajita-style “quezzadillas” crisped to perfection (with cheese, of course)
  • Healthy and scrumptious sweet treats like Greek yogurt with honey, house-made berry drizzle, walnuts, and cinnamon

The locations

If better health and a happier environment aren’t enough, you’ll love the vibe at ZIKI’s four locations. People with pets congregate on fur-baby-friendly patios on South Congress and W 3rd St. Need a bite between classes? Find ZIKI near UT Austin. Want to experience just-opened feels? Check out their new location at 706 N Lamar Blvd.

Bonus: Popularity has them expanding to more locationsand even cities.*

Austin’s Seaholm District Trader Joe’s location — aka store 452 — is one of three of the chain’s locations in the city.

The grocery store has since gained a cult-like following in ATX, and it also features local Easter eggs to enjoy while you shop.

Let us paint you a picture of the Austin references you can find at Seaholm Trader Joe’s, starting with the photo above.

No trip to Austin is complete without Wooderson’s famous “Dazed and Confused” quote — the movie was filmed locally, directed by local filmmaker Richard Linklater, and was famed Austinite Matthew McConaughey’s first role. | Photo by ATXtoday
