Developments coming to Austin, TX in 2022

We’re sure you’ve heard the news about various developments such as the Moody Center and the Texas Capitol Complex coming to Austin. No surprise here — in 2022, Austin’s business + economic development landscape will only continue to grow. 🏙

In case you skimmed over some of this groundbreaking news, here’s a quick re-cap. 

44 East, 44 East Avenue

This 51-story condominium tower is a skyline changer — at 545 ft tall, it will be the tallest tower in the Rainey Street District. The building will have 300+ condos and is located right off of Lady Bird Lake’s hike and bike trail.

Block 164, 1313 Red River St.

Near the former University Medical Center Brackenridge and situated across the street from Waterloo Park, this 17-story tower will host administrative space for The University of Texas at Austin.

The Moody Center, 2001 Robert Dedman Dr.

This $338 million Austin venue downtown boasts 15,000+ seats and more than 150 nights of entertainment each year. Tickets are on sale for the venue’s first events in April, including the Grand Opening Celebration featuring George Strait.

Tesla Giga Texas, 13101 Harold Green Road

The possibly $10 billion electric vehicle factory is set to open early in the year, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk hinted at a grand opening party with community tours in the near future. Can we get an invite too, Elon?

Sixth and Guadalupe, 400 W. 6th St.

Did we say skyline changer? We meant skyline breaker. This 66-floor tower will be the tallest in the city, at 873 ft. This development technically won’t be completed until 2023, but as Austinites will be able to watch the giant slowly creeping up over the course of the next year, we thought it was worth a mention.

State of Texas Capitol Complex, Downtown Austin

Three buildings in this major, $895 million development will be completed in 2022 as part of the project’s first phase.

Apple campus, North Austin

This 133-acre, $1 billion Apple campus will finally open in 2022, exactly three decades after the tech giant first came to Austin. Featuring 2 million sqft of office space along West Parmer Lane and Dallas Drive, the property will also contain a 192-room hotel
